History
Nossa Senhora da Ajuda is one of the names given to the Virgin Mary. The feast of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda takes place in Espinho, in September, and is attended by thousands of pilgrims. The Majestic Procession and the “Blessing of the Sea” are the highlights of this religious festival. Nossa Senhora da Ajuda is the patron saint of fishermen.
